DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is featured in a new radio ad promoting this weekend’s Iowa Ag Summit at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.   The ad titled, “Darn Good Farming,” began running in Des Moines media markets Tuesday.

This year’s Iowa Ag Summit will take place Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. It is sponsored by Summit Agricultural Group, a leading diversified agribusiness in the Midwest.

This year’s event is headlined by U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and will feature policy panels focused on important topics affecting agriculture, such as trade, energy, sustainability, corporate mergers, the environment and the 2018 farm bill.

The 2017 Iowa Ag Summit will once again bring together agricultural, government and industry leaders to discuss the important issues facing agriculture today,” said Bruce Rastetter, CEO of Summit Agricultural Group.   “I look forward to hearing from the diverse group of agricultural leaders that will be at this weekend’s event.”

Reynolds, who will be an active participant in this weekend’s summit, said the event offers tremendous potential to foster greater innovation, cooperation and success across the sector.

“Iowa is known worldwide as a leader in agriculture.  It’s part of our legacy and remains a cornerstone to our future, especially in terms of a global economy,” Reynolds said. “The Iowa Ag Summit plays an important role in focusing attention on emerging issues which impact our state and nation.  We are honored to host this prestigious event and look forward to the dynamic discussions which will take place.”
