Bob Cook remembers when Hansen House of Hospitality was born, 30 years ago today. It was a rocky start. The Presbyterian pastor was trying something new: urban ministries. At Des Moines dive bars such as the Y Not Grill, he kept running into men who’d just got out of prison. Too often, they’d end up going back. Cook saw a need.
