Pingora Outdoors Owner Touts Weekend Gear Swap

Dominic Keeling, who has turned his internet-based business, Pingora Outdoors, into a bricks-and-mortar retailer in Ankeny appeared on WOI-TV‘s mid-day newscast today to talk about Pingora Outdoors’ outdoor gear swap meet this Sunday.

The outdoor gear swap meet will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of Firetrucker Brewery, 716 Southwest Third Street, Ankeny. The family-friendly event is free.  There’s no charge and you don’t have to bring gear to come out and see what’s happen. There is a $10 charge only if you want to sell gear,” he said.

Outdoor gear swaps aren’t too common yet here in Iowa, but they are fairly common in places where people do a lot of outdoor activities, Keeling explained. The events are not only an opportunity to buy new gear or sell gear that’s no longer needed, but it’s also an opportunity to meet other outdoor enthusiasts, make new friends, learn from them and consider new adventures to pursue.
