Accumold Seeks to Fill 100 Positions at Jan. 28 Jobs Fair

ANKENY, Iowa – Accumold, a global leader in the design, development and production of micro-molded parts for high-tech industries, will hold a job fair on Saturday, Jan. 28, to fill 100 positions, President and CEO Roger Hargens said today.

The job fair will take place at the Ankeny Courtyard Marriott, 2405 SE Creekview Drive, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Individuals interested in applying for a position are encouraged to schedule an interview by first logging onto the company’s website, www.accu-mold.com, and clicking on the Employment link. This is the company’s second job fair and major hiring push in the last 11 months following the company’s second major expansion in six years.

“Accumold is bringing products of the future to the marketplace today, with many of the precision components we make being no bigger than a grain of sand. We continue to grow because micro-molded parts are the wave of the future in medicine, telecommunications, aerospace, transportation and other sectors,” Hargens said. “We need technical staff, tool makers, robotic technicians and production workers who share our passion for excellence. In return, we offer one of the very best working environments in the entire Midwest with state-of-the-art equipment in a company that is going to be a global leader in its field for a long, long time to come.”

Accumold, located at 1711 S.E. Oralabor Road, dedicated a 40,000-plus-square-foot, $10-million expansion last Aug. 9. Hargens said it reflected the company’s mission as “an innovation leader that taps the creativity, ingenuity and work ethic that represent the best of Iowa.” This second round of hiring is part of a commitment to create 200 jobs over three years.

The expansion mirrored a similar-sized, $7-million expansion on the same site in 2010 with one significant difference. The latest addition is a robust/hardened facility capable of withstanding an F-5 tornado to ensure that Accumold can continue to meet the production demands of customers around the world.

The company, founded in 1985, operates 24/7 with three weekday shifts and two 12-hour shifts on weekends.
